High school boy dies after shooting female teacher

A 15-year-old student died Monday morning after shooting a teacher at a Texas high school, authorities said. County Sheriff’s Office stated that an unidentified male student shot a female teacher in Bulverde.

Authorities did not specify how the shooter died, only stating that he was pronounced dead at the scene. The school was quickly placed on lockdown following the incident. Police said the campus was evacuated and all other students and staff were safe. The school was locked down at approximately 8:34 a.m., while classes were scheduled to begin at 8:55 a.m.

Students present reported that the gunshots came from a classroom on the second floor of the building, followed by screams, and school staff quickly evacuated students to classrooms for safety. After the situation was brought under control, the students were transferred to a nearby middle school and picked up by their parents.

Police emphasized that there is no longer any ongoing threat, but the specific details and motives of the incident are still under investigation, and no further details have been released. The school is a small college preparatory high school with approximately 260 students, focusing on STEAM education.

This incident has once again drawn attention to the issue of school shootings in the United States.
