The results are attracting attention as the New York State Equal Rights Amendment is scheduled to be submitted as a residents’ initiative in the general election in November this year.

The current New York State Constitution, adopted in 1938, stipulates equality with respect to race, color, creed, or religion. Ethnicity, national origin, and age are included in the equal rights. Reproductive rights such as disability, gender-sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy, contraception and abortion, and gender reassignment were added. The content is to be modified. Meanwhile, as of March, with about 7 months left until the vote, it was found that there were many opinions in favor of the ‘New York State Equal Rights Amendment’.
According to the results of a recent survey conducted by Global Strategy Group (GSG), 71% of responding voters expressed their support for the ‘New York State Equal Rights Amendment.’ 82% of Democrats and 70% of independents approved, and more than half of conservative Republicans (51%) also approved.
